FAQ

I have a DentsplySirona intraoral scanner. Do I still need to take an impression?

No, as a DentsplySirona preferred lab, we are able to easily accept scans from any DentslpySirona intraoral scanner through the Connect portal. Simply log in to your account, add “Premium Dental Lab” as your preferred lab, and then you will be able to send scans directly through to us via this portal. Once we receive the scan and your lab card, we will be able to get your work underway without having to wait for any deliveries!

I don’t have a DentsplySirona scanner, can I still send digital scans?

You sure can. We are able to accept an STL file from any scanner. Different scanner may have their own portal for sending cases, which in many instances we can utilise to make your life easier. If you have a digital scanner that isn’t a Sirona scanner, feel free to get in touch and we can discuss the easiest way to get your scans to us.

Do I need to use a certain type of implant to have a crown made?

Not at all, we can provide an implant restoration for any type of implant. It is important to be aware though, that some companies do not allow any compatible abutments or other components. If this is the case, we may need to order genuine parts to complete the job, which can add to the cost of the implant crown. We can also do this for any case where you want us to use a genuine component for any reason at all.

I would like a model with my case, does this mean I need to take an impression?

No, you no longer need to take an impression to get a model back! Using state-of-the-art resin printers, we are able to provide you with a 3D printed model with exceptional accuracy.

I don’t have a scanner, can I still send a case using impressions?

Absolutely. While digital scanning has become very popular in recent times, there are still plenty of people that prefer to take an impression for their patient. We understand this and are more than happy to use these impressions for any case you would prefer. We have the option to either scan and digitise the impression directly, or pour up the model into a classic plaster/stone model. If we digitise directly, we are still able to print the model instead of pouring it up. This will result in a model that doesn’t wear, which can be great for things like contact points.

Using an Australian lab is important to me. Do you send any work overseas?

No, everything we do at Premium Dental Lab is manufactured locally in Queensland, Australia. We are committed to maintaining all of our manufacturing locally.
